Garrett is eager to work with individuals and couples from various backgrounds to help guide them through any challenges, struggles, and unexpected life changes. He especially has a passion for working with adolescents.
He uses an evidence-based approach that combines well researched interventions from emotionally focused therapy (EFT) and brief strategic models to help guide and inform the delivery of treatment and services. He views the client as the expert of their own lives, and helps in guiding well informed decision making.
Garrett takes an empathic approach to the client and therapist relationship that is strengthened with respect to culture, beliefs, and values of the client. He provides the client with a safe and comfortable environment that allows the client to open up and express their thoughts, feelings, and emotions free of judgment. He focuses on establishing reachable goals with the clients that can be maintained after the therapeutic process has ended.
