JoLae Brandt-Shaprio - MFT Student Therapist

JoLae has always been passionate about helping people achieve their highest potential. She utilizes a creative, holistic approach to meet individuals, couples, and families where they are in life, addressing symptoms and relational conflict systemically. She values the client’s experience and the unique perspective they bring to their relationships. Providing a safe space, free of judgment, JoLae encourages others to find and express their authentic selves. In this space, she believes in exploring the positive intent behind all behavior and the underlying desire for connection in families and intimate relationships. At times, our life experiences may teach us that the world can be unsafe, and as resilient human beings, we adapt to protect ourselves; over time, these protections may hinder our growth. JoLae believes that all life experiences can be converted to assets if we are willing to be curious and explore what’s no longer serving our highest self.

JoLae tailors evidence-based theory to fit the clients’ needs, preferring to view clients through the lens of attachment and utilizing structural, family systems, and emotionally focused therapy. She works collaboratively with adolescents, couples, and families in all stages of life to achieve their goals, process experiences, recognize patterns and discover ways of connecting and communicating that are conducive to deep and meaningful relationships.

JoLae has completed certificates in EFT Externship and Level 1 Gottman Method Couples Therapy Training.
